“Who the hell is Matt Bergin?!”
That’s what 90% of readers will be asking when they check out the latest Pro Roundtable at The Pulse, where I answer this month’s pressing question: What is your favorite horror movie of all time?
Click through for my answer (I’m sandwiched between Tom Beland and Ian Carney), but here’s a hint:
Thanks once again to The Pulse for featuring your friendly neighborhood comic writer, Matt Bergin (me!) in another Pro Roundtable — this time showcasing favorite Halloween costumes. And look — they even used my pic as the feature’s thumbnail link!
This marks my third appearance on the site in a month… yet still we wait for Division 18 #1 to hit stores. If only our printer liked me as much as Jen Contino does.
“It is only through the will of the few that the many can prosper.“
– Wally the Dancing Hippopotamus, co-author of the historic 1985 Mascot Act and founder of the Union of Novelty Costumed Performers
Division 18 of the Union of Novelty Costumed Performers would like to lend its support to the Writer’s Guild of America during this trying time. Any scabs we see scribbling in their notebooks get their fingers broke. We’ll make due watchin’ reruns, till yooz guys work it out.
Friend of the Union Josh Adams has a new blog up at his site WhatWouldJoshDo.com featuring pin-up work he’s done for the second issue of a certain comic about novelty costumed performers. Our girl Mimi has never looked better!

You can read the whole thing here…
(Don’t forget to pick up your copy THIS WEDNESDAY at fine comic shops and sketchy diners everywhere!)
I will be signing copies of Division 18: The Union of Novelty Costumed Performers #1 (of 3) at my neighborhood comic shop — Magnum Comics & Cards, this Wednesday, November 7th, from 5-8 pm. Stop in and pick up a copy before my mother buys them all!
Magnum Comics & Cards:
3723 Riverdale Ave
Bronx, NY 10463
(718) 884-0714
Also keep an eye out for me at Midtown Comics (Westside) midday (12:30ish) in a more unofficial capacity, and, if you’re one of those hip Brooklyn types, check out Rocketship Comics after 5pm and you might stumble across co-creator and artist Jeremy Donelson.
The hype monkeys have been released! Check out Newsarama.com for a preview of Division 18 #1 and be sure to pick up a copy or twelve from your local comic book retailer today!
The Magnum Comics signing was a proportionally huge success. The Bronx shop specialing in “Big 2″ superhero books and Halloween costumes sold out of our goofy little black-and-white indie book!*
Not to diminish the worth of the debut issue of Division 18 or my own marquee value as a comic icon in the making, but I’m willing to bet it didn’t hurt our sales having my one-month-old baby in my arms the whole time. Take note, creators — cute kids sell comics!**
*And that’s with my mother buying only ONE copy!
**Also, hot wives. I have one of those too, and she was there as well.
